About East Van Hot Glass

Well, I'm doing it.

It's scary to put yourself out there as an artist, but my passion for blowing glass has led me to unexpected places and this is one of them. I'm really excited to continue the journey, and to find happy new homes for my glass.

I decided on the name East Van Hot Glass as a tribute to the neighbourhoods that I've lived in all my life, and where I blow glass every week, and you'll see that reflected in the names of my pieces. I am so grateful to the Terminal City Glass Cooperative and all of the amazing creatives who blow there. Everyone brings a different spark to the process, and I've learned so much in the past 5 years. For anyone who wants to explore glass blowing, I can't think of a better place to start.

Thank you to my friends who have commissioned glass over the years and hosted glass events - you made me believe that this was all possible.

A big thank you to the friends who have helped me with photography and video for the site, and made my glass and the process look so special: John Cousineau, Tony Wilson and Denise Relke - you're all so talented!

A huge thank you to my dear friend Sandra Murphy for helping me to design my logo and set up this website, a feat I could not have surmounted without her. And a shout out to Jim Lowe for assistance with producing the business cards.

And the biggest thank you to my wife and best friend Lanny who has always supported me and who will be happy to see some of my glass relocated from our house.
